| Whole in the Wall has been in business since
1980. In a world of here today and gone tomorrow businesses, we
continue to forge ahead. We have made dinner for everyone from Bob
Dylan to Phish, Kenny G, Ani DiFranco and
everyone in between (see Celebrity Diner list).
We are highlighted in the
AAA Travel Guide,
Tofu Tollbooth
and many other national restaurant guides. Our recipes have been
published in several cookbooks, including Simply Natural by
Les Sussman & Sally Bordwell. Recently we won a National
Humanitarian Award on NPR for our food donation project,
Stone Soup.
We are semi cooperatively run and try to make good use of each
staff members natural talents as well as giving them the freedom to
be creative. Everyone who works here becomes a limited partner. The
work can be hard but rewarding and operates in a family-style
atmosphere. Because this is a very unique place, each position
requires a training period even if one has prior experience. We

Cook's Apprentice
- We'll teach you the art of cooking and pay you while
you're learning...you will learn how to make old-style
homemade whole wheat breads and bagels by hand, line
cook, run a kitchen (from scheduling to ordering), make
ethnic and specialty foods, and have the opportunity to
create specials.
- No experience necessary
- Apprenticeship program runs 7 weeks Tuesday through
Saturday.
- Apprentice program is challenging & tough but warm,
friendly work environment.
- Must be able to make a one year commitment upon
completion of training.

Waitstaff
- Available hours are Tuesday through Saturday, shifts
run 9am-4pm & 4pm-10:30pm.
- 2 weeks training required, with or without prior
experience (total of 9 shifts).
- Job is challenging and tough but warm, friendly work

completion of training.

to make a variety of our homemade baked goods,

freezer with inventory. Monday duties include shipping
